Exhibition Catalogue: Masterpiece Technologies Inc. will host the exhibition featuring the Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings of Walter Baum and his students, Nolan P. Benner, Jr. and Ben Marcune. This exhibition, Painting Pennsylvania: Impressionism of Baum, Benner, and their Circle will be on display in our New Hope, PA gallery from December 3 through December 30, 1999. This art exhibition and sale features Impressionist paintings which capture breathtaking scenes of the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County. Selected works derive from the Benner estate and from the studio of Ben Marcune and convey the artists' studies with master painter, Walter Baum.
A most successful student of Walter Baum, Nolan P. Benner, Jr. work enjoys an impressive following with works in collections worldwide, Benner painted in the tradition of the Pennsylvania landscape painters, Folinsbee, Baum, and Sotter. This exhibition featuring the work of Baum, Benner, and their Circle demonstrates Benner's mastery of the art of oil painting.
Ben Marcune A fellow of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Ben Marcune's paintings show his love of the Pennsylvania landscape and the tradition of Walter Baum and the Impressionist School which included Baum, Garber, and Redfield. Marcune's works are housed in major international collections including HRH Princess Grace of Monaco and the President of South Korea. He has received portrait commissions from political figures and dignitaries and his love of the Impressionist style and the Bucks County landscape are featured in this exhibition of his work.
Walter Emerson Baum is a member of the famous New Hope School of Pennsylvania Impressionism active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A native of Bucks County, Baum was best known for his landscapes and stunning snow scenes of the areas of Bucks County and the Lehigh Valley. A master painter and teacher, Baum was instrumental in establishing the Allentown Art Museum and the Baum School of Art which trained a generation of fine artists in Pennsylvania.
