The work was printed under the auspices of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of Art in New York. Bearden's works are collected and exhibited throughout major museums and private collections worldwide. This work is based on an original work on paper recalling one of Bearden's most favorite and popular subjects, the age of American Jazz. Bearden was best known for his collages, graphic designs and colorful images. Subjects include genre scenes of Afro-American life, city scenes of the 1930s and 1940s, as well as the lively arts centers of New Orleans, Memphis, and New York City. This work was printed after the artist's death and the work is a numbered print, dated by the printer, and published by the Guggenheim Museum. If you have specific art interests or would like
to see more works by a particular artist, please feel free to contact me. I am always interested in
hearing from you. |
